Music review: ‘The Feeling’ is addictive and haunting

Justin Bieber is back on the scene with his new album, “Purpose.” In just its first month, it has already made its way to the number one spot on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums.

“The Feeling,” which features up-and-coming artist Halsey, sticks out from the rest of the songs on the album in the best way possible. While most of Bieber’s new songs have an R&B feel, “The Feeling” takes a slightly different approach, sounding almost like a cross between the genres of Dance and Alternative. Continue reading

Professor at FDU releases anticipated rock CD

In 1995, a band formed at Rutgers University that consisted of three professors. Two of the professors were a part of the Rutgers faculty and another one was teaching at William Paterson University. They named themselves The Professors and originally started as a joke. Yet after the band had their first gig, they went out and hired a bassist so that they could become more serious.

Two of the original members are gone, but Gary P. Radford, a communication studies professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham, still has the band going strong.

Rockstars collaborate with rappers – phase or permanent?

The first CD I ever bought (besides “Now That’s What I Call Music,” remember those?) was Blink-182’s Greatest Hits album in 2005.

That CD, though bootleg, was my golden ticket into the world of rock-n-roll. The genre, back then, was filled with all sorts of rock, from crappy-punk to screamo to Christian.

Rock-n-roll basically had no limits, which is why I instantly grew to love all that is rock. However, I never thought I’d live to see the day when the rockstars I fell in love with collaborated with some of my favorite rappers.

And, for starters, I kind of love it.
