Several FDU sports teams are advancing to their respective championships this semester.
The Florham Campus’ women’s tennis team has been chosen as the fourth team playing at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament, according to fdudevils.com. The Devils (7-10, 3-3) will play against the Eagles from Juniata College, the number one team in the conference who are hosting the two-day tournament.
According to an article about the upcoming match on fdudevils.com, “This is the first-ever ECAC women’s tennis championships and will feature the No. 2 Drew University Rangers and the No. 3 Misericordia University Cougars in the other semi-final matchup.”
The match begins at 11 a.m. this Saturday, May 9.
The other team advancing to their own tournament is the women’s lacrosse team. The team will be playing in the NCAA tournament for the second time in its history.
The Devils (16-3), are also Freedom Conference Champions. They will be heading to Gettysburg College to try and defeat Cabrini College in the first round. They’ll be taking on the Cavaliers (14-5) at 1 p.m. this Saturday, May 9 at Clark Field.
If the Devils win that game, they will then play against the Gettysburg College Bullets, who rank fourth in the nation, on Sunday.
